Group work Researching adverts.

today I was researching about freaky adverts. Before that I had know the group and know their skills and weakness. We chose a topic with clowns, spiders and death, Later we researched on YouTube about freaky adverts that matched the requirements  and we found

This is a picture of a man eating himself.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rx4jEIZyTZU
Little baby's ice cream.
this is creepy because the product is for kids and the advert is about a man eating himself and this is not suitable for kids. The sound of the video is normal but if you look at the video it make you think strange.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sT41wRA67PA

This advert  is about a car and later on it scares you with a scary image. The audio is nice and calm but later you can hear a scream and it will make you jump. It will make you think strange.

The planning
We decided to chose shoes as the advert .
as you see in the image (planning)

our group idea was to make a advert about a shoe but later we changed to energy drink people in my group; Abbi Ben and me.
strengths Abbi had filming skills and she knew the shot type
Ben was good at acting and he was a teenager in advert.
I had good acting skills and I wanted to be the creepy guy.
props; we got a dark outfit, tripod, camera and energy drink.

10 images for research

this picture is funny and unique but it is a good edit.

Composition and framing

Today we look through the National Geographic magazine and find example images which include one or more of the composition and framing rules.

this pictures shows rule of thirds.

(picture of  Rule of thirds states than an photograph is most pleasing when its subjects or regions are composed along imaginary lines which divide the image into thirds — both vertically and horizontally

By placing these around the edge of the composition you help to isolate the main subject from the outside world.

The result is a more focused image which draws your eye naturally to the main point of interest.

this picture is framing.

Before photographing your subject, take time to think about where you will shoot it from. Our viewpoint has a massive impact on the composition of our photo, and as a result it can greatly affect the message that the shot conveys. Rather than just shooting from eye level, consider photographing from high above, down at ground level, from the side, from the back, from a long way away, from very close up, and so on.

Today I improved on my Photoshop skills, thanks Mr Davis for giving us the best lesson today, I really enjoyed it. We had to make picture of a ghost using Photoshop CS6, it was all about editing layer 2, layer 1 had nothing to do because it was the background image.

Sorry image 1 wasn't clear enough because the background was dark. I got a picture of a clown and put hunted mansion as background. Later I edited the clown and made him blur and see through.

(president ghost)

I took a picture of president and put it near the white house.

(old market square with a man in a suit.)

I did this quick because we meant to take 3 pictures and I did two, so I made this quick, I added a man in a suit in middle of market square.

in future I will improve on editing skills and make images better.

Today we learned how to use cameras with tripod. Our task was to find a suitable locations to start filming with different angles. My favorite filming shot was the mid shot. We also filmed other people outside of the college with their permission.
After filming on a ideal location, we then came back into the classroom and learned how to edit videos using adobe premier pro, I didn't find this task difficult as it seemed familiar and easy to do.

However by the end of the lesson, I managed to improved my video editing skills.

(evidence)

My personal target for the future will be to improve my camera skills by using camera as much as I can to film.

Photography

Today I learnt the feature of the camera (panasonic DMG_FZ38.)
We had to work in groups of 4. We had to take pictures ourselves that matched the magazine and then we had to present it in the class. Later I learnt the name of parts that were used in the camera.
1 program
2 aperture
3 speed
4 manual
 5 micro SD card
In future I need to improve on how to use a camera.

Photoshop lesson

Today I learned how to use Photoshop, it is tricky to use since it was my first time playing around with the Photoshop software. However, I found some elements easier than others.
Playing around with the software: Photoshop has been an interesting lesson as I enjoy it very much. I used google chrome to get 2 images and played with them by editing features such as filters etc. My final design was a man wearing a suit and he has a cat's eye wrapped around on his forehead. This is an unusual style however being unique is thinking creative. The tools I used to edit this photo I managed to get from Google were clone and crop, they are the basic tools used to edit any ordinary picture.
Before the lesson, my objectives were to be able to use the Photoshop software and by the end of the lesson, I could edit photos using Photoshop features. Although I never knew how to use Photoshop  at the start of the lesson, yet I managed to achieve lesson objectives and I can now use the basic features.

However the thing I need to improve is to work with a pace while using Photoshop software in order to complete my tasks.

Advertising our product

I started with a topic called "The language of advertising slogans" we had to find the company's name for the slogan. It was a good topic because it stretches my knowledge and understanding of media.  Then we had to work in groups and build a project that involved toddlers, food and magazines. We chose toddler's cereal bars. The first thing was to plan out the design then we made the actual product and a script.. We came up with a name called "berry crunch" we chose this because it sounds unique and the slogan was "Berry Delicious."

overall if I had to improve I will improve on time management.

The Language of Advertising Slogans
to begin with, I had to find the name of the companies by looking at the slogans. This was a difficult thing indeed however, I manged to find some ideal ones.

At the end of the task, the whole class managed to come together with different slogans. We compared all those slogans and which companies they stand for, and picked up on the ones that were most/ least popular. As a class, me and my fellow students compared our answers as we had to match the slogans with the company's names correctly.
